Planning permission secured on behalf of Verity & Co Homes for the redevelopment of a brownfield former mill site in the heart of a Lancashire village to provide 17 new family homes.
What we did
NL Jones Planning led the planning process, from an initial pre-application consultation and on-site meeting with the Council, through to full coordination of the consultant team, ensuring the submission of a comprehensive application that demonstrated the proposal’s compliance with the Development Plan and its significant benefits to the local community, including the positive redevelopment of a key brownfield site to provide high quality family homes that meet local housing needs. NL Jones Planning also presented on behalf of the applicant at committee to secure a favourable decision and managed the discharge of planning conditions to facilitate development post planning approval.
What we achieved
Full planning permission was secured including the successful application of vacant building credit which ensured overall viability and deliverability of site. The development has since been completed and named Regional Winner in the Best Medium New Housing Development category at the 2025 LABC Building Excellence Awards.
